About Me

I am a postdoc at the Gamma-ray group at LAPP/CNRS in Annecy, France. My main interest is the observation of Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs) at very high energies (>100 GeV). I am currently a member of the LST-CTA collaboration. Before, I was deeply involved in the operations of the H.E.S.S. telescopes as Science Operations Manager and member of the GRB group. I was also member of the HAWC and SWGO collaborations where I developed tools for analysis of transient events, event reconstruction and simulations.

PhD in Astrophysics (magna cum laude), University of Heidelberg Dissertation title: Search and first detection of very-high-energy photons in gamma-ray bursts: an analysis with HAWC and H.E.S.S. (download) with the supervision Prof. Dr. Jim Hinton.
Bachelor in Physics, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Degree obtained based on high GPA.

We have worked on implementing a system that allows us to announce in real time about the follow up of Swift/Fermi GRBs with HESS. Check it out here!

I finished my PhD!

The 16th of June of 2021 I successfully defended my PhD thesis. The jury was composed by Prof. Dr. M. Barthlemann (chair), Piv. Doz. Dr. T. Marrodan, Prof. Dr. Jim Hinton and Prof. Dr. S. Wagner.

GRB 190829A Paper published in Science!

The paper detailing the H.E.S.S. detection of GRB190829A has been published in Science. I worked on the analysis of the H.E.S.S. data and contributed to the discussion and paper writing.
